Developed a technology to directly analyze the reactions on the catalyst surface under actual process conditions, contributing to the research and development of catalysts aimed at achieving carbon neutrality, such as in fuel synthesis reactions.

Our company (hereinafter referred to as "TRC") is the first domestic contract analysis company to launch a high-sensitivity analysis service for catalyst surfaces in catalytic reactions under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions, particularly mimicking actual processes, using infrared spectroscopy. A catalyst is a substance that promotes a chemical reaction without changing itself before and after the reaction. To improve the performance of a catalyst, it is crucial to investigate how substances adsorb and react on the catalyst's surface. TRC has made it possible to analyze catalytic reactions under controlled conditions of high temperature and high pressure (up to 700°C and 10 MPa) by using a special diffusion reflection infrared spectroscopy cell that can withstand high pressure, along with circulating reaction gases such as hydrogen and carbon monoxide. This enables the investigation of synthesis reactions of liquid hydrocarbons, which are alternative fuels to petroleum, under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions that mimic actual processes. In addition to optimizing the reaction conditions of catalysts, insights into the reaction mechanisms can also be obtained, which is expected to contribute to the design, development, and improvement of catalysts that are important for achieving carbon neutrality.
